Supplements I’m Using During a 5-Day Fast

—

by

This is not medical advice or a recommendation. This post documents the supplements I personally choose to use during a short-term fast, and why. I’ll update this if anything changes during the process.

During the fast, my goal isn’t performance or optimisation — it’s awareness, stability, and support. The supplements below are not meant to “push” the fast, but to help maintain electrolytes, sleep quality, and overall balance while food intake is paused.

What I’m Using During the Fast

I’ll update this post if anything changes during the fast, or if I notice something worth documenting.

Electrolytes

Used to support hydration and mineral balance during fasting. This helps prevent headaches, dizziness, and unnecessary stress, especially when food intake is zero.

Magnesium Glycinate

Primarily used to support sleep quality, nervous system calm, and muscle relaxation during the fast.

Glycine

Used for sleep depth, nervous system support, and recovery signaling. I typically use this in the evening.

Himalayan Black Salt

Used occasionally in water to support minerals and hydration without calories.

X39 / X49

Used as part of my existing routine to support recovery and performance signaling during periods of stress or adaptation.

Creatine

Creatine (daily throughout the fast)
Although often associated with muscle performance, creatine also plays a broader role in cellular energy availability (ATP), cognitive function, and neurological support.

I’m continuing to take creatine daily throughout this fast, not for strength or muscle gain, but to support energy consistency, mental clarity, and recovery while food intake is paused. I’ll note any changes I observe as the fast progresses.
